George I Walnut Lowboy

18th century
Description

George I walnut lowboy

We are pleased to be able to offer to you this George I walnut lowboy.

This lowboy has an extra drawer compared to most lowboys of this period you see.

The Georgian walnut lowboy has one long drawer under the top, and then a further 3 below and above the delicate shaped apron.

The lowboy stands on a cabriole leg to each corner, each that end with the attractive feature of pointed toes.

Each pine lined drawer is fitted period engraved brass handles. As this lowboy is a country made piece, pine was quite often used for drawer linings and the backboards also.
