Early 19th Century rosewood davenport with four mahogany lined drawers on one side and four dummy drawers on the other side, above them it has a sloping top that slides forward to make it easier to sit and write at, the top has a black leather which is decorated with blind and gold tooling, which opens up to reveal a compartment with two small drawers and two dummy drawers, at the side of the top section there is a small drawer which opens and then lays flat against the carcass with a pen tray and other compartments, this davenport is lovely quality and has a wonderful colour. Circa 1820.
