Art Deco 1.75 Carat Emerald Cut Natural No Heat Ruby & Diamond Ring, Circa 1940

1920 - 1940
Description

Such an exciting ring. The natural and unheated emerald cut ruby displays a deep purplish red and is set laterally in a rubover platinum setting. The ruby is cut shallow to allow plenty of light to pass through the stone, as well as giving the stone a generous “spread.” Forty-two eight-cut diamonds are set within the finely engraved gallery and shoulders, leading to a slim and fluted platinum shank.

Accompanied by a Ruby Report from the Gem & Pearl Laboratory (London) confirming the ruby is natural and unheated. Please contact us if you wish to see a copy of the report.

Cut – Emerald cut ruby and eight cut diamonds.

Colour – Diamonds are G.

Clarity – Visible inclusions in the ruby – to be expected of a ruby this size – but still transparent enough to allow light to travel through the stone. Diamonds are VS.

Carat – The ruby is approximately 1.75 carat with an estimated 0.42 carat of diamonds.

Circa – 1940.

Size – Q 1/2 (UK) or 8.25 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.

Measurements – The ruby is approximately 10.2mm by 7.7mm and sits 5.6mm from the finger.

Metal – Platinum. Stamped.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
