Description

A wonderful Victorian silver and tortoiseshell go-to-bed by the great William Comyns. The heart shaped tortoiseshell body is finished with a silver rim of delicate fretwork and gadroon detailing. There is a centrally mounted candle sconce with decoration echoing the rim and the looped handle features a cast floral thumb grip to the top. Both the outer rim and central candle holder are hallmarked and the piece has a quality feel. Dimensions below.
