Description

A quality Adam & Eve Automaton mahogany longcase clock. A swan neck hood pediment with brass patterae. Brass capped fluted hood columns. A fine quality painted dial with Adam and Eve scene to the arch, date and seconds indicators. Eve's arm moves with each second. An 8-day mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

John King of Bristol is recorded in A J Moores' 'The Clockmakers of Bristol' book as working in Clare Street from 1836-1842.
