Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
Gibbs was born in Preston on Stour (Glos.) in 1785 and worked in Stratford on Avon from 1828 to 1854.
The 5" silvered chapter ring has a gilt rope effect surround and is signed with the makers name, as is the movement.
An oval, burr walnut base houses the original glass dome.
The movement has just been fully serviced by our BHI registered staff and comes with our usual 12mths guarantee.
