~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
A large, unusual and very decorative original French antique cartel wall clock. It is classical in design, hanging from a large gilt brass bow with a laurel wreath. The clock is mounted in a toleware body with original blue painted finish. Below the dial is an eagle with cornucopia to each side, heavily modelled in gilt brass.

The dial is large and is enamel on copper with blued steel hands and convex glazed bezel. This is a very decorative and chic cartel clock, nicely restrained and well modelled.
Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition just some tiny nibbles around the winding holes and a some slight cracking near the edge. The toleware body has a good painted finish with a natural patination of age.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
