Georgian Lambeth Delft Plate.circa 1760

18th century
Description

Fine mid 18th. century Lambeth delft plate with coloured hand painted decoration of the famous pattern 'The Hopping Chinaman' as illustrated on dust cover and inside front cover of Garner's book on English Delftware. Lovely crisp colours. All in fine condition with minor edge nibbles as usuual, and a fine stress crack (probably done in firing) in centre of plate. Difficult to see from front, but visible from back.
