A fine quality gilt bronze four glass mantel clock retailed by William Angus of Lord Street Liverpool and made by Samuel Marti of Paris, c.1870

A beautiful quality gilt bronze four glass mantel clock adorned with finely cast and gilded mounts, surmounted with a superb quality urn..

The cast bronze case retaining its original gilding with thick bevel edged glass to all sides with opening front and rear doors.

The two piece enamelled dial with gilded decorative bezel and visible jewelled escapement to the centre, with blue LeRoy style Roman numerals and red outer Arabic numerals, signed to the dial centre for the retailer.

The fine quality fully restored spring driven 8 day movement striking the hours and half hour on a single bell, with rise and fall mechanism, stamped on the back plate with circular makers medal S Marti Paris, mercury jar pendulum. Gilded brass hands.

A very fine clock in excellent original condition with the movement fully restored and calibrated.
