~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
It is beautifully made in bronze and ormolu (finely gilded bronze). The elephant stands proudly on a naturalistically modelled base with trunk raised as a sign of good luck.

The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with finely cut gilt brass hands. The dial is signed Paris although the retailers name is rubbed. the rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen.
The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the bronze has a lovely patination and the ormolu is clean and bright. The dial is also in excellent condition just small mark beneath the 12 o'clock and some light nibbles around the Brocot shaft. The glass has been replaced at some time.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
