A Superb Quality Burr Walnut Victorian Period Antique Credenza Possibly by Lambs of Manchester

Description

A superb quality burr walnut Victorian Period antique credenza possibly by Lambs Of Manchester. Having a D shaped top veneered in the finest burr walnut with boxwood line inlaid detail and with a walnut moulded edge, above the central rectangular door, again veneered in the finest burr walnut with pierced fretwork spandrels and a fine boxwood marquetry portrait panel in the centre. The door flanked by raised pilasters with corbels and finely carved trailing fruit and acanthus leaf carving. The bowed glazed ends which open to reveal a silk lined shelved interior and having similar finely carved pilasters to the ends. Supported on a burr walnut D shaped plinth with turned feet. Stunning quality carving throughout which leads us to attribute this credenza to James Lamb of Manchester. England circa 1860-1870

Dimensions: 57" wide x 17" deep x 42" high

Condition: This credenza is in stunning condition, silk lining replaced.
