Early Oak Joint Stool C.1700

18th century
Description

A fine and honest example of a late 17th.c. or early 18th.c. joint stool. Offered here as found, simply waxed in our workshops. Single piece plank top with a moulded edge above a scratch carved frieze. Slightly splayed turned legs joined with stretchers, with the original toes still present. Early repair where the top has been secured to the base with screws, otherwise excellent original condition.
