Superb George V sterling silver sandwich box by Asprey & Co. with small angular swing handle to the side. The lid lifts up and the front falls down to reveal a gilt interior providing easy access to your sandwich. Super quality as you would expect from Asprey, and hallmarked to the base, lid, front, and handle for Birmingham 1922. Could there be a more decadent way to take your lunch to work or for a day out in the country?

It measures 5 3/4" (14.5cm) by 5 1/4" (13.3cm) wide and 1 5/8" (4.1cm) high. It weighs a very substantial 542g/17.4ozt. Condition is very good with no damage or repairs. A couple of tiny pinprick dints to the side and base. A little surface wear from use including some small marks to the top of the front wall where the lid slides down over the edge and a couple of marks inside to the gilt wash.
