With its 3 original Tall Finials this is an Attractive and Well Proportioned Light Oak Grandfather Longcase Clock by John Pepper (I). He succeeded James Pepper (II) in 1766 and was in partnership with Henry Pepper from 1773-86 and the alone till his death in 1795. Between 1720 & 1889, 10 members of the Pepper Family were Clockmakers and must have been a major influence on clock making in the Bedfordshire area.
The 8 Day movement has 5 Pillars and an inside count wheel rather than the mass produced "Snail Wheel" Cam. It has been checked, oiled and tested to be in Full and Good Antique Working condition.
