Japanese Meiji Period Silver Shibuichi Mixed Metal Box And Tray

A splendid Meiji period Japanese silver box with cover and tray, the inrobuta inset with a signed shibuichi panel, kebori and katakiribori engraved decorated with flat relief inlays of gild silver and copper depicting three tengu amongst bamboo performing the sparrow dance, the closest tengu raised to give the scene depth. This fine box is stamped on the underside and has a rosewood interior, it comes complete with its original silver and rosewood tray and apart from a few very minor dings it is in excellent condition.
