A charming Japanese carved ivory netsuke from the early Meiji period, in the form of a jovial man carrying a turtle on his back. This fine netsuke is beautifully detailed and has taken on a nice honey colour over the years of use; it is in very good condition commensurate with age and measures 2 ¼ inches in length.
