A magnificent Japanese Meiji period bronze okimono on stand, depicting a Goss hawk; moments from launching itself from the organic rootwood stand, his eyes focused, he leans forward with his wings poised to open. This fine okimono is beautifully detailed with fine chisel work, gilt accents and the beak and talons picked out in shakudo; the condition is excellent with no damage or restoration and it stands 12 inches tall.
