Description

A WW1 Officer's silver full hunter wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch itself measures 34.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is silver and is hallmarked for London (import mark), 1917 with an importer's mark for George Stockwell. From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items, which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail. The case is the full hunter model and there is a button between the bottom lugs that is pressed to open the front cover.

Inside there is a glass lens which is in good condition.

The white enamel dial is in lovely condition. The painted infill has been removed from the numbers and the hands.

A later leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
