A Rare & Unusual Heart Shaped Silver Vesta

1900 - 1920
Description

An unusual Edwardian silver vesta in the shape of a heart. This rare piece has a shield shaped cartouche to the front with the engraving 'G to R 1903'. A striker is found to the side and the body is decorated with foliar engraving. To the left hand side is a attaching loop for a fob chain or chatelaine. A lovely collector's piece.

Condition :- Very good, with no major dents or splits and a strong hinge. There are a couple of minor impressions to the top of the lid, commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable.

Date :- Birmingham 1902.
