Lovely Set Six Regency Mahogany Dining Chairs C1800

19th century
Description

A lovely set six antique georgian regency mahogany dining chairs and dating from around 1780-1800. Constructed from solid mahogany they have a squared back rest with vertical slats carved and raised to the centre and reeded side supports above a drop in seat pad and stand on squared and tapering legs joined by an 'h' stretcher. They have drop in seat pads covered in a quality satin damask fabric.

There are five chairs and one carver (for the head of the table!). The carver is slightly larger with lovely shepherds crook shaped & reeded arm rests with a carved hand support.

A lovely set of six georgian regency dining chairs with a superb shape in excellent condition and ooze the charm and character of the period in which they were made and I am sure that whoever buys them will be very pleased with their purchase.

Measurements: 36" high X seat height 17" X 19" deep X 19" wide

Elbow chair measures: 37" high X seat height 17" X 20" deep X 20" wide
