Castleforge Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1860s.
It has a squared edge to the bow front with a long moulded frieze drawer and with two short drawers over three long graduating drawers all of which are beech lined and with turned mahogany knob handles inset with mother of pearl and also with lovely mother of pearl lock escutcheons. There is a squared column to either side and its stands on a plinth base with turned legs.
This is a superb quality antique victorian mahogany chest and in very good condition with a lovely colour and deep original patination to the mahogany and I am sure that whoever buys this will be very pleased with their purchase. There are a couple of very very minor chips but ceratinly nothing that detracts from this lovely chest.
