1940s Gold Plated Half Hunter Pocket Watch

A 1930s /40s gold plated half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a Swiss 17-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is wound by pushing in the crown and winding. The movement is protected by an inner cover upon which is a 1942 inscription.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is gold plated and is in good condition with just light surface marks. The front has blue enamel filled Roman numerals around a small central lens while the back has monogrammed initials.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition. Original glass lenses were often replaced with acrylic when they broke as it is a much more durable material.

The white enamel dial has one hairline crack running between 10 and 12 although not immediately noticeable to the naked eye. Blued steel hands including the special half hunter hand so that the hands can be distinguished between, and the time read, even when the front cover is closed.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
