Wickersley Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Formally (recently) at Worksop Manor built circa 1760 by the Duke of Norfolk the architect being James Paine it was never fully complected and in 1838 sold to the Duke of Newcastle and incorporated into the Clumber Park Estate though Worksop Manor itself was sold by auction in 1890, Mary Queen of Scots was held at the first Worksop Manor in 1568.
