A fine and decorative oil painting on canvas depicting an upland landscape. The scene depicts in bright sunshine a river valley landscape with buildings, and is painted in thick impasto paint. The work is technically very good but little is known about the artist although he does have a portrait in the national portrait gallery. The painting has been professionally cleaned and a small hole repaired.
