The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The watch has a key-wound movement which is working nicely.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch itself measures 53mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1890 with a maker’s mark for Alfred Bedford, the manager of the London branch of Waltham. The front of the case is in good condition while the case back has some mild bruising but overall it is in nice condition for an 1890s piece.
The watch glass is in good condition.
The signed white enamel dial has a couple of faint surface scratches although hardly noticeable but overall it is in nice condition.
The minute hand is later although antique.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
