Stunning Antique English Cake Stand in Silver Plate C.1900

Description

One of the most lovely cake stands I have had in some time, this three tier example made from English silver plate. The three circular dishes are quite magnificent, each with a dimple in the centre and a wonderful pierced or reticulated gallery.

The stand is where the full mark can be found for the Sheffield silversmith's, Maple & Co., only in operation from 1900 to 1907, making this a true Edwardian era.

Superb condition. The stand has a footprint measuring 12" x 7 1/2" and stands 12" tall; each cake plate measuring 8" in diameter.
