Description

Very impressive 18th.c. French oak linen press or house keeper’s cupboard c.1780. Standing eight feet tall to the top of its fabulous shapely cornice. With a two door cupboard top fitted with shelves and five slim drawers over a bombé fronted base with two short and two long drawers of graduated depth. Beautifully carved large basket of fruits to the centre of the cornice, shaped door panels, concave and convex curved drawer fronts, shaped apron and large carved ball and claw feet. Fine spread of decorative period brass handles and escutcheon plates. Solid oak sides, backboards and drawer linings. Excellent condition and particularly good colour. Cupboard key supplied.
