Description

A wonderful example of an Oak Desk made by famous London makers “Edwards & Roberts” one of the best cabinet makers in the the UK.

It is beautifully carved in the “Green Man ” taste to the drawer fronts with extra carving the sides and base, it has an antiqued green leather writing insert to top. The desk has excellent proportions, a good size with approx. dimensions of 53 inches wide 29 inches deep and 29.5 inches tall.

*Edwards and Roberts were one of the best English antique furniture cabinet makers of the second half of the nineteenth century. Founded in 1845 trading as ‘Edwards and Roberts’ from 21 Wardour Street as Antique and Modern Cabinet Makers and Importers of Ancient Furniture’.

The company became one of the leading London cabinet makers and retailers producing high quality furniture, and good copies of 18th and 19th century English and French furniture.

Their workmanship was of the highest quality. Their furniture was made with the best quality timbers.
