Description

A fine quality French carriage clock by Maurice & Co, Paris. An impressive case with corinthium capped fluted side columns and dentil blockwork. Beautifully fretted silvered front and side panels with birds amongst foliage. A silvered dial signed by retailer 'Hall & Co'. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a gong. Numbered 503. The original lever escapement. The original travelling box. Circa 1885.
