ANTIQUE #SA509204

18th Century Stone Gothic Sun Dial Plinth

£2,500    $3,175    €3,011
This impressive stone sun dial base was made in the 1750''s to complement the main front door surround of a large Georgian Somerset Manor House which was built by the eminent Cartographer William White at that time.As can be seen in the photographs it was made in sections. It will need to be re-assembled. There is slight damage which occurred when I personally purchased it from the owners of the House . The original octagonal Sun Dial plate had been replaced with a very much later small lead one. There are octagonal marks on the top of the stone where the original one was placed. It stands over 4 feet tall. Ideally the purchaser will need to arrange collection from Somerset. The measurements are approximate.
