Large Japanese Meiji Period Jardinere

1900 - 1920
Description

A superb Japanese Meiji period jardiniere, with a traditional Japanese design surrounding cartouches displaying garden scenes with ladies and attendants. Raised on a short base, this antique bowl is well shaped with a flared rim and beautifully painted in good rich colours, iron red, blue and gilt. The characters on the base are shown in the photographs. The condition is extremely good and this highly decorative Japanese ceramic jardiniere is ready to add impact wherever placed in the home.
