Pierced Silver Swing Handled Basket 1913

This fine quality antique SOLID SILVER SWING HANDLED BASKET was made by the well-known and sought after silversmiths of Mappin & Webb in 1913.

Standing on four elegant feet, this lovely boat-shaped basket has an intricate foliate pierced design. The rim of the basket has an embossed border and the basket has a beautifully designed pierced silver swing handle with a blank cartouche.

The basket comes complete with the original undamaged thick (7mm) Bristol Blue Glass liner which makes this an absolutely stunning piece.

The basket is made from heavy gauge silver and is free from any added monograms, initials or engravings. In superb condition despite being over 100 years old this superb piece would look lovely in any setting or would add to any collection.
