Puckerings has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The centre retains the original family armorial crest, this tray would have belonged to an important family.

The handles are extraordinary with cast ferns incorporated into the design; the excellent construction is evident from the underside of the handles. The underside is fully marked for the silversmith and in addition there is a design registration diamond, this configuration was used between 1868-1883, a true Victorian example
Top notch quality and in excellent condition.
