Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1910s.

Not only is the frame made from English sterling silver, the matte is made from solid English silver with an oval aperture in the centre. The frame is decorated with a very elegant ribbon and reed design with floral motifs incorporated.

It is made by the very finest of English silversmiths, Mappin and Webb and is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1911.
Excellent condition, measuring 12" x 8" with the oval aperture measuring 9 3/4" x 6 1/4".
