Description
Lenzkirch clocks are generally considered to be the finest of the German factories who consistently produced timepieces of outstanding quality during the last half of the 19th century. This clock has been part of my private collection for 20 years and I have seen another example of this size. ?This particular clock is illustrated in their 1855 catalogue as Model 93. Another example is also illustrated and described in - ''Lenzkirch clocks , The unsigned story '' by George A Everett .Many of the their early clocks were unsigned such as this example but this clock can firmly be attributed to the company and I offer a money back guarantee to this end. ? This model is sometimes seen in giant size seconds beat form but I have never seen an example of normal double weight size and , in my view , the better it is for it ??The 7 3/4 inch porcelain dial is in excellent condition and the 8 day weight driven gong striking movement is of excellent quality having solid plates and pinions and dead beat escapement . . It is stamped with the movement serial number 115311 which dates to 1868 .The movement is in full working order but would benefit from a clean and a service. ?The walnut veneered case has the most wonderful colour and patination. The choicest timbers have been used with burr walnut on the back board .This really is a very exceptional clock ? The original finely carved pediment is also present. I would urge prospective buyers to look closely of the carvings and decoration on this clock. I offer a full money back guarantee as to the authenticity of my Vienna clocks . I also welcome any expert appraisal whatsoever. Obviously, any potential clients are very welcome to view the clock prior to purchase (or pay on delivery)to ensure that they are satisfied with their purchase. The overall condition is outstanding being original and well looked after. There is ,of course , the odd age related mark as you would expect on any item of this age but the condition is a good as anyone could possibly expect. . The sides of the case are glazed with original glass Hopefully the images will show interested parties all they need to see. It is 48 inches in length (from the very bottom finial to the centre of the pediment) .The widest part is 18 inches wide .The maximum depth is 7 1/2 inches. If the asking price is paid in full then I will have the movement professionally serviced deliver and set up the clock free of charge to the English mainland ,Wales and the Scottish lowlands .I will also provide a 12 months guarantee under these circumstances .This is the same service that is provided by a high street retailer without the customer having to pay for the overheads If a lesser off is accepted then this will be sold as a trade sale with the clock as described and with shipping costs the responsibility of the buyer. I will ship this clock worldwide. Domestic buyers are asked to use alternative means of payment to Pay Pal if at all possible. My contact details are at the very bottom of my listings should any interested parties wish to get in touch directly Guesstimate prices areas follows Europe £60 USA £100 Asia and Australia £150 Please read carefully. Due to the covid pandemic please note that shipping costs have risen considerably. Therefore I would urge you to contact me to request a shipping price.
