A charming Japanese late Edo period Tsuba forged from iron it is chased with decoration depicting a mountain landscape with two figures at the bottom crossing a bridge to a village above, the reverse of the tsuba is chased with a winter scene with inlaid silver, gold accents on both sides. This splendid tsuba has an open hitsu and is signed; it is in excellent overall condition measuring 2 5/8 inches across and comes in its presentation box.
