Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Regency era.
It has a drop in seat which has been newly upholstered in a good quality grey fabric. In beautifully figured rosewood, solid and sturdy, would make a wonderful desk chair.

Good colour and patina. Solid and sturdy. Wear and marks commensurate with age. Newly reupholstered. Would originally have been a caned seat. Missing buttons to side rails, feet would have terminated in balls.
