Silver & Mother Of Pearl Butter Knife Sheffield 1881

Superb, Victorian silver butter knife. The knife handle is made from a particularly beautiful mother of pearl, wonderfully coloured and very tactile to hold, and is decorated with a small armorial of a Lion bearing a cross. The silver blade of the knife is beautifully engraved with pretty leaves and the collar is embossed with a leaf design. Clear hallmarks are visible on the blade for the Sheffield Assay Office with a date mark for 1881. The Lion Passant is also visible along with the maker''s marks for Roberts & Belk.
 
This a a particularly handsome, yet practical piece.
 
 
 
Condition: This knife is in excellent antique condition.
