Victorian 3 Bottle Tantalus, Circa 1880

Description

A fabulous English Victorian oak and silver plated 3 bottle tantalus with working lock and key and carrying handle to top. The bottles are cut glass are of unusual design with square bases and beautiful spherical cut glass stoppers and come with a set of 3 silver plated decanter labels for gin, sherry and whiskey. Circa 1880.

Tantalus height: 14" (approx 35cm)

Tantalus length: 17 1/2" (approx 43.75cm)

Tantalus width: 6 1/2" (approx 16.25cm)

Bottle height (with stoppers): 8 1/2" (approx 21.25cm)

Total weight: 6690g

In good condition - no major chips or cracks to glass, however there are a few flea-bite chips on the shoulders of some of the decanters consistent with age.
