A wonderful and rarely found example of an antique tortoiseshell box mounted with solid 9 Carat gold hallmarked for Birmingham 1920 together with the goldsmiths mark by Horton and Allday.

It is not just the highly decorative initials to the top that are gold, the rim mounts to top and bottom and hinge are all solid gold.

The shell is quite magnificent with a glorious glossy patina showcasing the beautiful markings and tapestry of colours ranging from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown.

Superb undamaged condition measuring 4" x 3" x 1 3/4".
