Antique English Sterling Silver and Mother of Pearl Fish Servers - 1895

Description

A stunning English Victorian sterling silver and Mother of Pearl Fish serving set, both the knife and fork beautifully engraved with fish motifs.

The handles are made from carved and polished Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell with it's bright patina showcasing the iridescent qualities of this prized shell.

The silver is fully hallmarked on both pieces for London 1895 together with the makers mark for the well renowned silversmith, William Hutton and Sons Ltd.

The pair sit in their original presentation case lined in velvet and silk. Superb condition, the knife measuring 9 1/2" in length and the fork, 8". The case measures 11" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/2".
