Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
It has brass catches to fasten the table extensions together underneath the top. It can be used without the leaf to seat 6 people or with the leaf to seat 8 people, depending on requirements. The d ends have bird cage actions underneath to allow for the tops to be tilted up for storage. In good order with a polished finish, and very good quality.

Good colour and patina to the mahogany with a high gloss finish. The legs are solid and sturdy with no breaks or repairs. No woodworm. Very solid and stable. A few scuffs and marks commensurate witgh age.
