Matched Pair of Tall Asian Carved Wooden Columns

Description

A fabulous matched pair of 19th Century Asian carved wooden columns standing on square bases with dragoon and leaf carving. The columns which are carved with scrolls and foliage, support plinths decorated with balls, acanthus leaves and alternating borders of flowers and trellis. These rare antique columns have traces of original paint. The condition is quite good, they stand very well and look very impressive. There are some minor losses and chips to the carving on the plinths, this does not detract from their appearance and if anything adds to the character of these decorative columns. A most unusual and striking interior design piece that would add drama to any scheme.
