Description

Very good quality early 20th.c. French semainier chest of drawers c.1900. So called because it has seven drawers, one for each day of the week. Ideal for clothes, accessories or even filing. Original white marble top, just 26? wide, with a shaped and moulded edge. Beautifully figured kingwood veneers with inlaid stringing and crossbanded borders to the drawer fronts and sides. Original and crisply cast ormolu mounts, handles and escutcheon plates. Shaped apron and feet, also ormolu mounted. Stamped A. Budinger on the top (below the marble) whilst the marble has an old handwritten paper label on the underside with a Paris address. Oak drawer linings and oak sides and back to the cabinet. Excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
