A fine oil on panel by Belgium artist Jean-Baptiste Valentinelli (1913-1950). The painting is typical of the artist who painted many such similar impressionist scenes of Venice. The scene here is most likely the entrance to the grand canal. The painting is signed to the lower left. The painting has been mounted in a period Italian frame which is painted and gilded and also has silvered slips. The whole is in excellent condition and ready to hang.
