~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A magnificent large antique French lyre wall clock, exquisitely made in ormolu (finely gilded bronze or Doré Bronze). It is modelled in the classic style of Louis XVI in the shape or a large (30" high) lyre with acanthus decoration. The quality of the original gilding is lovely with crisp detail to the matted and polished areas and it is in excellent condition.

The dial is large and is porcelain enamel on copper, lettered with a separate minute ring, complete with original lyre hands and convex glass.

The French movement is by Vincenti and is of high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled and tested by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Ask for the video clip to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage. The rear door is a little distorted but this is not visible with the clock hung on a wall. A stunning clock in lovely original condition.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
