Beautiful English Cut Crystal and Silver Plate "Dimple" Biscuit Box C.1900

Description

This is a beautiful late Victorian or early Edwardian biscuit box or barrel.

Made from crystal which is essentially square with a concave or "dimple" to all four sides. The box is intricately and finely cut, a top quality and unusual example. Each of the dimples is cut and the underside has a star-cut.

The collar, swing handle and engraved lid are made from silver plate, excellent condition with the underside of the lid having a full mark for the Sheffield silversmith, Cooper Brothers.

Excellent condition measuring 4 3/4" square x 7" tall to top of lid finial or 9" tall to top of handle while upright.
