Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 1920s.
At first glance the wardrobe has 2 panelled doors to the front, however these when opened revolve outward to the sides revealing a 3 sectioned compactum.
The centre section has a hat shelf at the top and 6 suit hangers which draw out on individual rails, the hangers have a jacket hanger and under, a trouser rail with a patented clip mechanism.
The right hand section has a mirrored cupboard door at the top, inside there are 4 labeled sections for Collars, Ties, Gloves and Handkerchiefs and a concealed drawer, below this there are more glass fronted sections for Socks, Sundries, Dress Shirts, Shirts, Vests and Pants.
The left hand section is a hanging cupboard with it original hangers and 3 more compartments, for woollen coats and boots
The compactum is is good condition, it has a very attractive patina and stands on oak bun feet, it has geometric paneling to the front and it breaks down into 6 piecers for ease of access, the original instructions for assembly are shown on both the inside of the door and on the back
So an incredible amount of organised storage all in a space saving wardrobe
Closed the wardrobe is 73” hog, 54” wide and 24” deep
Opened out fully the compactum is 73” big, 84” wide and 30” deep
