Description

An enormous giant clam shell with deep bowl and well shaped teeth. The colour of the interior is pearly cream and the exterior has interesting flecks of purple and beautiful pink crustaceans. Giant clams have an average lifespan of over 100 years. The layering of the shell is built up over many years and it is difficult to date precisely. This magnificent shell, from a private collection, is in reasonably good condition, there is slight damage to the edge of two teeth, but this does not detract from the decorative appeal. A fabulous decorative item to add drama to any design scheme.
