A Fine Antique Walnut Desk Chair by Charles Tozer

A superb quality antique walnut and leather desk chair circa 1900-1920 by W Charles Tozer, 25 Brook Street, London W1 who were one of the finest cabinetmakers specialising in the early Georgian / Queen Anne walnut revival furniture.

Having a shaped and pierced scrolled walnut back splat with shepherds crook shaped arms and leather drop-in seat raised on beautifully carved walnut cabriole legs with carved shell to the rams head knee terminating on hoof feet.

Tozer’s makers label attached to the underside of the frame.

This chair is a beautiful example of Charles Tozer work, excellent quality, good timber and veneers used with excellent design and proportions. It is easy to see why he was recognised as one of finest cabinetmakers in his field.

Offered in excellent condition having been gently wax polished using traditional methods this fine desk chair boasts a superb colour and patina. The seat has been recovered in brown chestnut coloured leather.
